Wall balls, squat snatch, burpee, WOD, ring rows, and hang power clean - if these terms are very unfamiliar or if you’re timid about this type of training, then this is the class for you. The fundamentals program teaches the necessary movements needed for a functional workout and life. It gets everyone accustomed to the workouts while achieving progress without fatigue to failure. The wonderful thing about Strongside is that along with being CrossFit trainers, each coach also has one or more nationally accredited personal training certifications. They take pride in their fundamentals program because this is the root of reaching success with your fitness goals.
Fundamentals classes are offered only a few times a week because the program is designed for you to come no more than 3 times a week so that the body can adapt to this new type of training without overtraining.
The Workout of the Day, or “WOD,” is a daily group workout. These classes are coached by a certified personal trainer who is also a CrossFit trainer. You will be instructed the entire time, for the coach is there to make you better. Each workout will begin with a strength and skill component prior to the engagement of the higher intensity element of the workout.
The WOD is different every day and is programmed in a way to keep you progressing and not overly fatigued. All WOD classes have the same workout for that day.

The Olympic Weightlifting class only focuses on the snatch and clean & jerk.
These two Olympic lifts are very complex movements that take years to master. However, they are among the most fun and most beneficial movements. Just one Olympic lift works more muscles and increases your metabolism higher than several other single, combined exercises. The Olympic lifts are also seen in many WOD’s.
Each class is taught by USA Olympic Weightlifting Coach, Mitchel Black. These classes are open and encouraged for everyone. These lifts always need improvement. When attending these classes, it is important to note that you do not stay after or come early to do the WOD class. You will need all your strength for this class, and the rest is needed after the class.
